Lume Carbon and HBAP Sign FABA Utilization Agreement

Bloomberg Technoz, Jakarta - PT Lentera Karbon Indonesia (Lume Carbon), in collaboration with PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP), held a talk show titled “FABA Utilization for Agriculture and Food Security” at Artotel Casa Kuningan, South Jakarta. The event discussed the potential utilization of Fly Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA), particularly its application in the agricultural sector, contribution to food security, and role in advancing circular economy principles.

The talk show brought together four speakers representing academic, industry, business, and community perspectives: Asmiati Malik, Ph.D., Academic at Universitas Bakrie; Mia Monasari, Director of Human Resources & General Affairs of PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power; Febiandini Mahesa, Director of Business Development of PT Lentera Karbon Indonesia; and Fatoni Saputra, Chairman of the Yayasan Sekolah Tani Indonesia.

From an academic perspective, Asmiati Malik discussed research findings and scientific studies related to the utilization of industrial and mining residues, including their potential application in supporting agricultural productivity and food security.


Mia Monasari presented the industry perspective as a representative of HBAP, a producer of FABA generated from its coal-fired power plant operations. She explained FABA management practices, as well as various products and innovations being explored to increase its utilization and added value.

From a business development perspective, Febiandini Mahesa discussed the circular economy approach to FABA management, including opportunities to develop FABA into products and solutions that can support the agricultural sector in a sustainable manner. Meanwhile, Fatoni Saputra highlighted the social and environmental aspects of FABA utilization and its potential relevance to agriculture, food security, and surrounding communities.
